Hello and welcome to the Psychic News.
>^,,^< >^,,^< >^,,^< >^,,^< >^,,^<
In this edition I am going to briefly discuss some of
the symbolism
used in prophesy.
I am sure you may wonder sometimes, how readers dig
precise details
out with their tools, to provide relevant readings -
well the answer
is symbols. The Oxford Dictionary (1964) defines a
symbol as follows:
"Thing regarded by general consent
as naturally
typifying or representing or recalling
something
by possession of analogous qualities
or by
association in fact or thought."
There is a "racial consciousness" that governs
our recognition of
symbols. For example, an ant is always busy with industry,
thus the
symbol of an ant shows constructive activity. A flag
is generally
waving for celebrations, so a flag symbolizes happiness,
celebration
and gatherings. The generally accepted associations
are endless.
This type of symbol identification is the basis of tea
leaf reading
and is also used when scrying in crystals, sand or water
medium.
These basic symbols also appear on the various Tarot
cards. But
the Tarot includes its own set of symbolic suit indicators.
As
with a normal deck of playing cards, the Tarot appears
in 4 suits
which also designate directions and seasons, and colouration
and
characteristics of the people represented by the court
cards in
that suit.
Hearts equates with Cups (in the Tarot) and
designates the
direction of South, the season of summer and
people with
light brown or blonde hair and pleasant genuine
personalities.
Clubs equates with Sticks or Wands in the Tarot
and designates
the direction of East, the season of spring
and people with
brown hair who enjoy the outdoors and socializing.
Diamonds equates with Coins or Pentacles in
the Tarot and
designates the direction of West, the season
of fall/autumn
and people with glints of auburn in their hair
who are usually
extremely charming and empathetic.
Spades equates with Swords in the Tarot and
designates the
direction of North, the season of winter and
people of dark
colouration with leadership skills and an intense
capacity
for concentration.
In these suit representations of people, the reader
has to decide if
all the information associated with the court card appearing
in the
reading is relevant in that reading. Often the court
card symbol is
only telling you one characteristic about the person
indicated, and
although that suit representation might usually indicate
blonde people,
perhaps instead, on this particular reading occasion,
it may be telling
the reader the likely profession of a black haired man.
This is where
intuition and possibly an inner voice can help the reader
understand
the message represented in the symbols.
Four suits is a common division of symbols in Astrology
as well.
There the twelve signs fall into one of four element
designations,
Earth, Air, Fire or Water.
Spades of course relate to "air", because
Swords slice through the
air. Clubs or Sticks originate from the "earth".
Hearts or Cups
contain "water" and Diamonds or Coins are
the "fire" symbols because
fire tempers metals.
With this understanding we can also attribute three
possible
Astrological signs for each of the people represented
by the Tarot
court cards.
Some experts feel that Sticks/Wands are associated with
the element of fire and Coins are the earth related
suit, perhaps due
to ores for metals being mined, but I am more confident
in my reading
efforts using the opposite designation.
Chinese Astrology also uses four elements as the common
symbols.
In that system they discuss Fire, Wood, Water and Earth.
Of course
each of these elements shapes the basic personality
of the twelve
Chinese animal signs.
The theme of symbols being affected by other symbols
helps the reader
pin down what is being revealed during the reading.
Think of playing
a game of charades and trying to interpret what is being
acted out or
represented to you. That is how prophesy works for
many readers, who
work to interpret symbols in their readings, while using
a variety
of tools.

Ancient Chinese Proverb
That the birds of
worry and care
fly above your
head, this you
cannot change,
But that they build
nests in your hair,
This you can prevent.

:::Just for Fun:::
Finding and Using your Individual Lucky Numbers!
Have you ever noticed a feeling of affinity towards
certain numbers?
People generally can quickly choose a digit between
0 and 10, and
can usually state with ease what their "favourite"
number is. There
is usually a reason behind this choice. Numerology
takes names and
birthdates and translates them into single digit numbers.
Many
people have cause to change their names throughout their
lifetimes,
but no one can change the fact of their birthdate.
Thus, for purposes
of drawing good luck, we will deal with the birthdate
digits.
Take, for example, that you were born in the 12th month
on the 8th day.
This all took place in year 1979. In order to calculate
your birth
digit you add up all these numbers. (Replace this date
with your own
birth date to calculate the number relevant for you.)
Take all these digits, 12 + 8 + 1979 and add
them up.
The total is 1999
Now add up the 1 + 9 + 9 + 9 = 28
Add up these two remaining digits 2 + 8 = 10
And then add up those digits 1 + 0 = 1
To discover the digit "1" which is
the significant
birth digit for someone born on December 8th,
1979.
For this person when using numbers to buy tickets
and
whatnot to consistently use the number 1 or figures
that total to
one is in the long term lucky for them.
This person should be using the digits 1, 2, 7, 8, &
9,
(from the actual digits in their birthdate) in various
combinations
and repetitions to choose numbers in lotteries that
total a "1" .
Frequently a person finds out, as an after the fact
point of interest,
that their "favourite number" for years, has
been their birthdate or
name designated numerology digit. Similarly comfortable
residential
address number designations are often matched with these
individual
significant numbers for which we have an affinity.
It is important to choose a series of numbers and stick
with them
over the long haul and eventually they will be the winners
for you!
Good Luck.

... TRIVIA of Interest(?) ...
In case you have been wondering about the origins of
my name
"Atham Z",
I will herewith try to give you a short explanation.
You may have found in "net searches" that
Atham is generally
confused with an athame.
An athame is the ritual knife used in ceremonies.
ATHAME
A black handled, double edged dagger. Principally
used to cast
and dissolve the magic circle, for which purposes
it is
interchangeable with the magic sword.
My name is Atham, not athame, although I have been accused
of having
a knife edged tongue, in the past! :-)
These two names have a highly coincidental similarity.
I take no part in any activities.
But I do pride myself on trying to pierce to the heart
of issues.
Atham is an acronym derived from the following:
"A"ll "T"hings "H"ave
"A" "M"eaning.
The letter "Z" is reportedly a Greek letter meaning "He is alive".
By choosing this name I feel that I acknowledge the
unity of the
universe and exclaim to the world my vital role in its
workings.
I mean by this, that it is common knowledge that Zen
philosophers say
that one beat of a butterfly's wing affects the entire
universe, and
my role in the workings of the cosmos is no less important.
We are all intricately connected in the great scheme
of life. When
humanity begins to respect all life, the world will
certainly be a
better place for all of us.
Consequently, I try to ensure that my reading efforts
are consistently
of a positive benefit to those I read for. I try to
point out in
readings where our present actions are leading us and
alternative
choices that can result in different outcomes.
We all have a responsibility to make
our lives as valuable as possible to ourselves and others,
and in my
small way, through my readings, I am trying to positively
contribute
to our ability to live happier lives on this planet.
