THE YEAR OF THE RAM or SHEEP
(The Chinese New Year)
The
following is a short summary of how each eastern
animal
sign will fare in this the year of the Ram, Sheep or
sometimes
known as the year of the Goat. This new
occidental
year began on February 1st.
There
is a quick reference chart so that you can determine
your
Chinese astrological sign (if you don't already know it)
available
in my newsletter archives at
http://www.Athamz.com/archives/march01.html and
the
following
is a precis of what you can expect in this, the year
of
the Ram.
How the Various Signs Fare in the Year of the Sheep
by Theodora Lau
The
Rat
This
person finds that his or her finances recover and
there
will likely be some career achievements. But
plans
cannot be realized without change or some small
upheavals.
Discovery of previously unseen opportunities
will
lead to advantage.
The
Ox
There
won’t be much progress this year but there will
be
good news that boosts confidence. No serious illness
or
quarrels and home life will be relatively peaceful.
Beware
of any over optimism as this could lead to losses,
either
financial or unspeakable.
The
Tiger
This
will be a good year, although whatever problems
will
seem to be very time consuming. Negotiations or
tension
at home or work keep the Tiger from relaxing
and
a vacation is in order, whether or not it is in the
budget.
There may be a loss of a personal belonging,
but
overall it is a lucky year as there are no disasters
coming.
The
Rabbit
This
will be an excellent year with wonderful
achievements
and plans progressing smoothly. A
prosperous
year, but strict attention must be paid to
details
that could later cause trouble in a settlement.
No
big problems at home or work.
The
Dragon
There
will only be moderate progress in terms of
finances
and career. Some health problems may flare
but
family life will be quiet. No upheavals or unwelcome
changes
in environment are on the horizon.
The
Snake
No
great gains and no sizeable losses to be expected
this
year. Life will be calm and leisurely and take
advantage
of this time to cultivate influential friends
who
will benefit you later on. Expect sad news or
minor
inconveniences at home.
The
Horse
This
will be a moderate type of year, with changes
of
residence or long trips indicated. The good balances
out
the bad this year and no serious problems or worries
affect
the Horse.
The
Sheep
This
won’t be such a great year for the Sheep.
Things
will start out bright with lots of plans or invitations
then
problems or complications will pop up that are
noticeably
limiting. This year will be a time to trim
expectations
and be practical.
The
Monkey
An
involved and busy year, where it will be easy to
make
money but profits will be reduced by unexpected
expenses.
Meeting new and beneficial associates will
generate
a need to entertain and travel more than usual.
A
minor health upset or unhappiness at home is indicated.
The
Monkey needs to be secretive so that others won’t
be
able to pry information from him or her.
The
Rooster
This
is a good safe year for the Rooster with no
upheavals
and good tidings. Lost ground will be
regained
and career advancement is indicated.
Troubles
abound but they don’t affect the Rooster
directly.
A quieter and more settled life leads to
relaxation
and possibly a good vacation.
The
Dog
Anxiety
and worries will beset the Dog. Losses can
be
prevented and differences resolved by the Dog
holding
his or her tongue and refusing to loose his/her
temper.
This is a year for patience and conservatism.
This
is in general a moderate year.
The
Boar
Only
a fair year in that the financial position will be
at
a standstill or a loss. No serious health problems
or
big upheavals. Gains will be in the form of
knowledge,
training or career development. This
year
is a time to plan for the future and seek out new
opportunities
to explore.

Book Review
The Field, by Lynne McTaggart
Harper
Collins Publishers - ISBN 0-06-019300-X
A
friend of mine heard about this book and its description
fascinated
me, so I immediately ordered it. This well-
known
and credible investigative journalist delves into the
anomalies
encountered in scientific research, alternative
medical
treatments, psychic phenomena and simple faith.
You
may remember studying science or physics in school,
and
the teacher trying to explain to you that light was both
waves
and particles. That was sort of over my head at
the
time. According to documented scientific studies of
the
past decades, light is a wave until someone or
something
observes it in a certain state, and then its
"pinned
down" position is particulate. So when God said,
"Let
there be light", the universe was born because it
could
be observed.
Out
in the vacuum of space, aside from the planets,
stars,
asteroids and comets, that vacuum is not empty.
It
is full of electrons et al that are all vibrating like waves,
even
in the absolute zero cold temperatures. This
discovery
has recently amazed scientists who now seem
to
be adopting the name "Zero Point Field" (ZPF) in
order
to label the stuff in the void.
(Those
who have formerly been named quacks also
called
this "ether" and various other designations.)
Ms.
McTaggart then takes us from the quantum
physics
discussion over to what medical researchers
are
discovering about quantum effects in their biology
research.
Hard to believe but our bodies emit light, and
so
does vegetable matter.
Now
you needn't expect to glow in the dark, but
sensitive
instruments can determine wellness or make
diagnoses
based on what particular light the cells emit.
And
more astounding, correcting the frequency of the
light
emitted sometimes cures the disease, even cancer.
More
amazing is that cells resonate or vibrate in a
pattern
that can be translated auditorially and also
respond
by vibrating in synch with a healthier sound
being
played back to them.
Water
being a miracle substance, on this our watery
earth,
can form templates of needed curative substances
when
molecules are completely diluted out of the solution,
which
validates the centuries old argument about
homeopathic
medical remedies and which discovery is
beginning
to be tested with vaccines.
This
all connects to the Zero Point Field, or in other
words
quantum vibrations of energy or light being
aligned
to work for our health or against it.
Next
she talks about faith healers and those who pray
for
someone’s recovery. Yes, this positive faith and
desire
does work. (They have done control studies on
HIV
patients about this.) It didn't matter if your intent to
cure
was through Reiki, Qi Gong or Christian prayer - it
works!
The person intending the healing is sending out
quantum
energy with the desire to help the recipient
being
targeted to arrange his or her cells to settle into a
healthier
pattern.
Naturally
this leads to thoughts about psychic telepathy.
The
quantum (ZPF) field that surrounds us all sends or
receives
thoughts in this extra sensory fashion,
particularly
when one has trained their mind to be
receptive
to and believe that such communication works.
This
led to doing studies on nonbelievers without any
type
of training, and yes there is a racial consciousness
that
can be measured through fluctuations in the Zero
Point
Field (aka the quantum field) that is everywhere.
This
global field (ZPF) showed remarkable disturbances
when
O.J. Simpson was acquitted and even greater ones
on
9/11/01. So those electrons that are everywhere, as
energy
(matter) or light, carry information, even memory
from
different generations (time periods), that a being can
tap
into and use when required. Now I finally understand
why
those Monarch butterflies can always find the same
trees
upon which to roost, even though they are a younger
generation
and their predecessors are long dead.
Stephen
Hawking awakened us all with his ideas in "A
Brief
History of Time", but Lynne McTaggart has pulled
together
information from pockets of researchers around
the
world that will be changing our expectations and
understanding
of science and ourselves.
This
book is a must read for anyone looking for a
reasonable
explanation for psychic abilities and events.

The Humour Offering
Six
months after the waiter died, his widow went to see
a
medium, who promised she would contact the dead
man.
During the seance, the widow was sure she saw
her
husband standing in the corner, dressed in his waiter's
outfit.
"Arnold!" she cried. "Come closer and speak to
me!"
A hoarse voice from the corner wailed, "I can't.
It's
not my table."

My FAQ
Hello,
I'm
really not sure if you'll be able to help me at all. But
I
feel that I need to talk to some one about this and if you
could
offer me any answers or insights I would greatly
appreciate
it. If you can't, I understand and apologize for
wasting
your time...
All
my life (or as far as I can remember) I've had a bit of
a
psychic side. For years it was actually frightening for me
because
I did not understand what was going on with me.
But
anyway, this is something I just can't figure out. I've
been
living in our home since November 2002. I live with
my
husband (we were married in December). One night
last
week we were sitting on the couches (he on the love
seat
and I on the couch) and out of nowhere 3 pictures I
had
hanging on the walls just fell off (they were just general
art,
one of angels, and 2 that were "homemade" art projects).
One
of them shattered the glass completely. For a while I
tried
to think of any reason possible that these pictures could
fall.
I couldn't find any. It was also strange because I have
several
other pictures hanging on our walls and none of them
moved
and these pictures weren't in a position where one
falling
could cause a domino effect. This is the second time
in
the past month that it's happened. Well that night I lay in
bed
awake after my husband had gone to bed. For nearly
30
minutes I kept hearing foot steps in our hall way. They
were
heavy and for some reason they just reminded me of
a
man. At first I thought it was an intruder but there was
no
one there and the house was locked. So then I continued
listening
to those footsteps until I fell asleep. Then two or
three
nights later my mom received a phone call. It was
from
my place of employment. But this was an hour after
I'd
left. No one there has her number so how they could've
called
is beyond me. When she answered she heard music
like
she was on hold. So she was terribly worried about me.
The
NEXT night (before I found out she'd had a call from
my
job) my grandmother called me. She asked if I had called
her
and I hadn't and told her so. So the job's number was on
her
cell phone. No one I know has access to that number.
Even
I can't remember it. So how they both received calls
from
my job 2 nights in a row when I surely didn't make
them
is really beyond me. These things are starting to get
a
little weird and I don't know what is going on. If there's
anyway
that you can see anything please, please, please
share
it with me. Thank you for your time. - Anna
Hello,
When
a person is in their teens or early 20's after their
hormones
awaken, it is as though their chakras or psychic
abilities
also awaken. Before they gain an understanding
and
control of this phenomena this energy can in a way
spill
out of them causing a "poltergeist" type of effect.
That
would explain the falling pictures and strange phone
calls.
Psychic perceptions are also heightened and could
explain
your hearing footsteps which probably originally
occurred
where you heard them, but in a different time
period.
This
opening of psychic awareness is like a tearing down
of
the boundaries of our normal perceptions.
You
have three choices here, either to try to repress this
energy,
ignore it or redirect it. If you want all such "odd"
occurrences
to stop, give yourself strong and repeated
suggestions
that nothing weird is going to happen. If you
wish
to try to channel this energy, I recommend beginning
with
a very simple tool such as a pendulum to practice
your
psychic skills. It is also really important to begin a
journal,
noting what you felt or predicted at times of
psychic
events and leaving space for subsequent entries
in
the journal at a later date to record what actually
transpired.

:::Just for Fun:::
A Simple Divinatory Tool - The Pendulum
An
easy tool to manufacture at home by which to start
developing
or strengthening your psychic intuition is the
pendulum.
The pendulum is considered to be the most
common
psychic lever and it has been used since ancient
times.
Its modern use can be traced to the early decades
of
the last century when De Chevrul, a French psychologist
used
it to probe the subconscious minds of his patients.
There
is nothing particularly "spooky" about the pendulum.
It
has been known for some time now that thoughts in the
subconscious
mind affect the motor muscles. This effect,
called
the Ideo Motor Response, usually consists of small
movements
or shakes, that while meaningful, are too minute
to
be observed directly. The pendulum, with its long thread
amplifies
these movements enough to make them visible -
as
changes in the swing of the pendulum bob.
According
to conventional science, the subconscious mind
can
be accessed using this device. It can swing in 4
directions,
left to right, front to back, and in clockwise
or counterclockwise circles.
These 4 movements can be used
to
designate 4 different responses from the subconscious -
"Yes",
"No", "No Answer Available Now" and "Question is
too
Complex".
All
you need is a piece of paper a pen and a pendulum. You
can
make your pendulum using a string or thread (10 to 18
inches
long) with a small weight attached at the end. A small
metal
nut or bolt attached to the string will work just fine.
You
need a weight so the pendulum can swing, but you don't
want
it so heavy that it takes a strong gust of wind to move
it.
Ask a question for which you know the yes or no answer
and
observe the swing of your bob. Obviously that direction
designates
the yes or no response. Or you can hold your
pendulum
over a piece of paper with a line that is horizontal
and
marked "YES" across the middle of the page and a
vertical
line with the word "NO" down the middle of the page.
Lay
the paper on a table and hold your pendulum by the end
of
the thread so the weight is suspended over (but not touching)
the
intersection of the two lines. Deliberately cause the
pendulum
to swing in the "yes" direction. Say out loud, "This
is
the direction in which I want the pendulum to swing when
the
correct answer to any question I ask is yes." Then
deliberately
cause the pendulum to swing in the "no" direction.
Say
out loud, "This is the direction I want the pendulum to
swing
when the correct answer to any question I ask is no."
Cause
the pendulum to be still (not swaying). Hold the end of
the
thread without moving your hand. Ask out loud any
question
you wish that can be answered by either "yes" or
"no."
Continue holding the thread very still. Soon the pendulum
will
begin to swing all by itself, without your moving your hand.
If
the pendulum swings in the direction of the "yes" line, "yes"
is
the answer to your question. If it swings in the direction
of
the "no" line, "no" is the answer to your question. If the
pendulum
swings in a circle, your question either cannot be
answered
at that time because the cosmic consciousness
may
be deliberately withholding the answer from you, or you
have
asked too complex a question; and the answer cannot
be
given as a simple yes or no. You can over time assign the
clockwise
and counter clockwise circular swings to the "no
answer
now" versus the "too complicated" responses.
Whatever
way you wish to determine the answer of your
pendulum
doesn't matter, as long as you develop a system
that
you stick with consistently through your efforts.
Pendulum
divination is a lot of fun. Your psychic mind is
in
action in this divination exercise. You may want to keep
a
journal of the questions you asked it and then record what
actually
evolved. Have Fun!

The Daffodil
The
Welsh believe it is lucky to find the first daffodil of
spring
and that to do so will bring the finder more gold than
silver
in the coming year. It is important to NEVER take a
single
daffodil into a home, always take a bunch, as a single
blossom
invites misfortune to follow.

PASSION
or PERIL - Net Romance?
From
my perspective, when trying to provide advice to
the
lovelorn, which is often what psychic reading
degenerates
into, internet romance is a dangerous and
disappointing
gambit. Now that 40% of North
American
homes have computers, I expect that in spite
of
the horror stories that are circulating, people will still
be
trying to find that "special" person from the comfort
of
the chair in front of their PC.
Everyone
seems pretty savvy about not giving out
personal
information and being wary of philandering
hopefuls,
BUT after conversing for months with
someone
in text via chat rooms or e-mail, you do get a
sense
of who that person is. Usually the "who" is how
the
person wants you to perceive them. People in
general
are good at "reading" what other people wish
for
or wish to hear. Many people are very good at
taking
your ideas and reflecting them back to you as
though
they are their own. Of course you are going to
agree
with them then! Pictures are exchanged, because
that
has become easy and cheap. Nobody said it had to
be
a picture of you at your current age either.
Eventually
telephone numbers are exchanged. Then the
text
chats turn to real time phone calls, in spite of the cost,
because
of course that nice guy is never conveniently
geographically
located. Instead of anticipating a cyber
meeting,
the relationship grows to anticipating that phone
call.
If the conversation goes well, as in no in spouses
are
answering the phone on the other end causing
complex
excuse making, then the two decide to meet.
Often
expensive and badly needed items arrive as gifts
as
well! Obviously the cost for all this is shared or the
more
affluent party pays the shot.
Lets
back up a bit here. Say for example that the
couple
has been conversing for 4 to 6 months, at that
point
they are probably both in love with their own idea
or
notion of the other person. That notion has less to do
with
reality than with their own wishful thinking. They
have
constructed an image of this romantic prospect that
will
be difficult to revise or destroy.
So
plans to meet are made and anticipated. Anticipation
is
one of the most intense emotional states of human
feeling.
By the time that boy meets that girl they are
both
bursting with positive expectations. They are both
completely
on their best behavior, and they do have the
details
of their previous exchanges by which to fuel the
conversation.
With such intense desires flowing through
their
veins it is highly likely that the anticipated romantic
encounter
will unfold pretty quickly. And you betcha, if
they
both have at least normal responses in that
department,
"they are in love".
Here
is where the psychic reader comes in. Next step
in
this net romance is obviously to see one another more
often,
which means one or the other has to give up
established
employment, residence and support
networks
and relocate. I respond to hundreds of such
queries
each year, "is this going to work out?"
Even
when things look good astrologically between
such
a couple, the reality of 24/7 is quite a different
matter
than joyously anticipated intermittent contact.
The
things that other person didn't want you to know
about
them finally surface. Due to the intensity of the
anticipation,
oftener than not completely incompatible
people
are thinking of rearranging their lives for one
another.
100% for sure is that there will be
disappointments,
because no one can live up to the
dream
image that you construct for yourself of the
perfect
partner.
My
best advice here is to go back to the beginning.
Think
about why someone is looking for love in
cyberspace
rather than their own real world. If they
are
such a great guy or gal, what has isolated them
from
the prospects in their area? They isolated
themselves
of course. If someone can’t establish
good
working relationships in their own real world, it
is
going to be virtually impossible to establish a healthy
relationship
with a cyber pal who suddenly is a reality
on
their doorstep, expecting to be around for good.
More
of my unsolicited advice: please don’t make
life-altering
decisions based on cyber friendships or
romance.
If there is a difficulty with relationships
available
in your daily life, a much wiser decision would
be
to understand what is misfiring and work to correct
that
glitch in how you are meeting or dealing with other
people
in life.
Just
my 2 cents, but honestly this advice could save
someone
thousands of dollars. Have fun with your cyber
friends,
take them at face value, develop cyber support
networks,
but remember your wishes are affecting your
perceptions
when using the computer and for the sake
of
your well being, don’t let your emotions flow through
a
machine.
